Samantha McDonald
Samantha McDonald is 17 years old and about to begin her senior year at Valor Christian. She was thrilled to hear that Theatre in the Grove would be putting on The Little Mermaid, and truly believes this show may be one of the most unique and special theater experiences she’s ever had! Samantha’s favorite roles include Ms. Honey in Matilda Jr. (HART) and Frog in A Year With Frog and Toad (Theatre in the Grove). While not onstage, Samantha enjoys to read and spend time with her friends and family. She would like to thank her parents both for their support and the endless drives to rehearsals, and the cast and crew for this amazing experience!
Shane Glenn
If you’re a Forest Grove local you might’ve seen Shane in shows at Forest Grove High School. Notable shows Shane has been in at FGHS are Legally Blonde! , Mama Mia, and Clue. He’d like to give a shout-out to his family for always being at his shows. He’d also like to shout-out to the Tech Theater Camp for praying for this role for him.
Makayla Verant
Makayla Verant – Ursula – Makayla is very excited to be have the opportunity to participate in this production of The Little Mermaid. Makayla is going into Sophmore Year at Forest Grove High School. She is grateful for her mom as she has pushed Makayla to go above and beyond. Makayla’s favorite past role is from HART theater as Sour Kangaroo is Suessical. Makayla is very excited to give her best as Ursula.
Annie Lebow
Annie is excited to be here! This is her 2nd show at TTITG, her 1st was Anything Goes in 2019. She is entering 12th grade at Hillsboro high school, where she has done many shows, including Antigone and Into the woods. She would like to thank cast and crew for being awesome and her friends and family for being supportive. She would also like to thank anyone who actually bothered to read this bio (hi!)
Izabella Swendig
Izabella has been involved with TTIG since 2019, but had to take a break due to quarantine. She has volunteered here since then but this will be her first time back on the stage. She’d like to thank her dad for getting her to audition, her mom for all the support, and everyone who helped put this production together!
Ainsley Rhodes
This is Ainsley’s first theatre production at TITG. She has been a part of a few productions at her high school as a costume techie but her first real role was as Lavender in Matilda. She has enjoyed her time working with everyone involved in all of her productions and plans to continue doing theatre for her last two years of high school and into college. She would like to thank all her friends for their encouragement, her cast mates for being so pleasant, and the crew for helping make things possible.
Laurel VanDyke
Laurel will be an incoming 6th grader this fall at Hazelbrook Middle School, and is excited to make her TITG debut in The Little Mermaid. She has previously performed in theatre camps at the Sherwood Center for the Arts, and enjoys singing, playing piano, sports, reading, and learning about mythology. She would like to thank her parents for driving her back and forth to rehearsal, the cast and crew for their support, and TITG for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing show.
