Frannie McNally (Isabel/Helen) Back by popular demand, Frannie has returned to the stage after an almost ten year hiatus. She got her acting start early, performing in annual musicals from elementary school all the way through high school, holiday dinner theatre, and a few years of opera in college. Frannie is ecstatic to be back on stage, proving that “happiness is wherever you want it to be.”

Gabe Russell

Nephew and Young Ebenezer

Gabe is a sophomore at Portland State University and is studying to hopefully become a teacher in the future. He was previously in Assassins as Zangara, Hand to God as Jason and Tyrone, and was Audrey II’s puppeteer in Little Shop of Horrors. He is overjoyed to be performing in community theatre again and has loved working with everyone in the cast.

Joe Schorn

Topper / Phantom / Ensemble

Joe is relatively new to acting only having worked on some college productions of Frog and Toad and various improv shows. His experience is mainly in musical performance, playing in rock-bands and jazz ensembles for venues around the Portland metro area. Joe is passionate about the art of theatre and all that goes into making a good show. Whether it’s working behind the scenes or as part of the cast itself, with a song in his heart and a skip to his step, Joe strives to do his part and to make each show a memorable one.

John Kost

Christmas Present / Ensemble

Mr. Kost was born and raised in North Portland, attending Blessed Sacrament elementary school, North Catholic High School and graduated from La Salle High School. He received his BA from Portland State University where he sang in the university chorus, which performed such works as Beethoven’s Ninth symphony, the Berlioz Requiem and Britten’s War Requiem. He has performed in community theater productions, including Lakewood’s productions of“The Merry Widow” and “Bye, Bye, Birdie”, Gilbert and Sulivan’s ”Rudigore” with the Dairyville Players, “HMS Pinafore” and he portrayed Giuseppe in “The Gondoliers” with Light Opera of Portland . From 1995 to 2010 he sang in the chorus of Portland Opera and has always been active in church choirs.

Jon Oshel

Mr. Pringle / Ensemble

Jon has been acting intermittently for almost 60 years. Some of his favorite roles have been Horace Vandergelder in “Hello Dolly,” Charlie Brown in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” Hucklebee in “The Fantasticks” and Lazar Wolf in “Fiddler on the Roof.” Jon spent most of his career as a County Engineer at locations all over Oregon and is now retired with his wife Ginny in Hillsboro, to be close to his grandchildren.

Kaylen McPharren

Miss Dilber / Teacher / Ensemble

A click of their heels, a flick in the wrist, and here they come! Timid but determined, Kaylen McPherran is taking their first step on stage and shining a light on the side! Performing as the tepid Miss Dilber, a cheery school teacher and even a mousy party guest, they’re sure to dazzle and wow with boss song and choreography alike alongside their talented and dazzling costars.

Lea Bieker

Bess/Martha Cratchit/Youth Ensemble

Lea is a 10th grader at ACMA in Beaverton.   They are very excited to be part of their first Theater in the Grove production! Around town, Lea has acted in Waiting for Godot (HART theater),  Holly Jolly (HART theater), Beauty and the Beast ( Beaverton Civic Theater) and A Christmas Carol (Portland Playhouse).  Lea loves singing, holidays and playing with Kiki, their family’s pet Yorkie.

Madelynn Noyes

Beggar/Urchin/Youth Ensemble

 At 11 years old, Madelynn Noyes is thrilled to perform in her first full musical production as an Urchin in Scrooge!  Past roles include Red in Into the Woods, and a Gingersnap in The Nutcracker. Maddy has been singing and dancing from the first moment she could. Musical theatre dreams fuel her passion, and Scrooge!  is an exciting first step toward her goal.    

Mark Ferris

Jocelyn Jollygood/Ensemble

Mark was last seen at TITG in BIG FISH – The MUSICAL.   Mark has been in many plays including WILLY WONKA, RUMORS, SOUTH PACIFIC (twice) and KISS ME KATE.  He has been the stage manager for eleven plays including MOUSETRAP, DOUBT, and ANNIE.  Mark really enjoys the challenge and teamwork that goes into putting on a theatre production. Mark also enjoys tap dancing and helping to build theater sets.  Mark would like to thank the audience for coming and supporting live theater.
