Dorinda Toner
Dorinda has been performing on stages across North America for 40 years. She studied Theater/Directing at University in her native country, where she is also a multi-album Canadian Recording Artist. She is a proud Board Member for the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT). She has twice been the facilitator of the AACT Community Theatre Management Conference (West Coast) and is delighted to serve on the Editorial team and to have contributed as a guest columnist for AACT’s national ‘Spotlight’ magazine. Dorinda is a past Vice-President of PATA (Portland Area Theatre Alliance). A multi award winning actress, Dorinda was thrilled to play ‘Beverly’ in Kerrigan & Lowdermilk’s ‘The Mad Ones’ Virtual Broadway Lab in 2020. A prolific director, she has won several awards for her work, including Portland Broadway World’s Best Director and Best Play in 2021 for ‘A Feminine Ending’ and the Willamette Weeks Best Play of 2019 for ‘How I Learned to Drive’. Dorinda enjoys Intimacy Directing for stage actors and has level 2 certification with the IDC (Intimacy Directors & Coordinators). Dorinda is a Certified DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) Human Resources Specialist. Dorinda is excited to be directing her third show at TITG previously having directed Mamma Mia and Hand to God here. She has been the Producing Artistic Director of Twilight Theater Company in Portland, Oregon since May 2016 and believes strongly that community theatre changes lives.
Alicia Barrett
Alicia Barrett is a dedicated and accomplished music director, pianist, and educator based in Hillsboro. As a key member of Theatre in the Grove’s creative leadership team, she serves as Music Director for the season, with recent credits including The Little Mermaid and 9 to 5. Alicia has also contributed her musical expertise at Lakewood Center for the Arts, where she conducted 9 to 5 and will conduct the upcoming production of Groundhog Day, and played keyboard for Jersey Boys. In addition to her theatre work, Alicia is the staff pianist and music director at Bridgetown Conservatory of Musical Theatre, with recent projects including Dogfight. She also teaches piano privately in Hillsboro. Alicia is thrilled to bring her passion and experience to such an iconic production as Annie and hopes you enjoy this fantastic show.
Alicia Turvin
Alicia has been involved in theater since she was a little one in the suburbs of upstate New York. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and a Graduate Degree in Management, theater has always been Alicia’s passion; rather than her profession. Though she works in Human Resources during the day, she holds every assumption that Broadway will come calling. Alicia is an award-winning Set Designer, Choreographer, Director, and Actor. She will be directing the next show, Arsenic and Old Lace, here at Theater In The Grove. Alicia has been the Managing Director of Twilight Theater Company since 2019.
Izzy Steele
Izzy is so excited to be in this production. She has enjoyed getting to stage manage for this wonderful production and cast. Some of her other stage managing works have been “Noises Off” and “Brighton Beach”.
Brittany Henderson
This is my first community theatre show ever, and first show since 2007! I was so excited to audition and actually get the chance to perform on a stage I’ve been watching my dad perform on since I was a child seeing “And Then There Were None” sparking my lifelong love of live theatre. I’m even more excited to get to be in this show with him! Thank you Travis Schlegel for supporting me and helping me to get this point! I hope that my own children will catch the theatre fever, my daughter is already interested after seeing “9 to 5” and my son is already trying to have and sing before he’s even potty trained. Another special thanks to my husband for stepping up more than you already do and supporting me off stage so I can pursue this passion.
Chris Byrne
Chris Byrne (Costumes) – Chris is delighted to be costuming the cast of Reefer Madness at Theatre in the Grove. After a year of directing 4 shows last year, including 9 to 5 and Annie, which appeared at TitG, she is back to flexing her costuming muscles. She has been making sure that casts don’t go on stage naked for more than ten years at Theatre in the Grove, HART theatre, Twilight Theater Company and Grant High School.
