Chris Byrne
Chris Byrne (Director) – Chris is thrilled to be directing Annie this holiday season at Theatre in the Grove.
Her directing credits include 9 to 5 at Theatre in the Grove, Christmas in Christmasville, Mad Ones and Christmas Shorts at Twilight, The Lightning Thief, Little Women, Holly Jolly (in 2016 and 2018) and Happy Days: a New Musical at HART theatre. While she is usually found directing, set designing or costuming shows, you might have also seen her onstage as Virtue in Anything Goes, a Laker Girl in Spamalot, ensemble in White Christmas, and Ida the Maid in See How They Run.
She would like to thank her amazing production team, this talented cast and her family for their endless support.
Alicia Barrett
Alicia Barrett is a dedicated and accomplished music director, pianist, and educator based in Hillsboro. As a key member of Theatre in the Grove’s creative leadership team, she serves as Music Director for the season, with recent credits including The Little Mermaid and 9 to 5. Alicia has also contributed her musical expertise at Lakewood Center for the Arts, where she conducted 9 to 5 and will conduct the upcoming production of Groundhog Day, and played keyboard for Jersey Boys. In addition to her theatre work, Alicia is the staff pianist and music director at Bridgetown Conservatory of Musical Theatre, with recent projects including Dogfight. She also teaches piano privately in Hillsboro. Alicia is thrilled to bring her passion and experience to such an iconic production as Annie and hopes you enjoy this fantastic show.
Brian Johnson
Brian Johnson-he/him is a Principal Engineer at Intel and has been involved with TiTG since 2011. He started volunteering to support his children in their desire to be on stage. During his two terms (2015-2021) on the Board he served as the Technical Manager. He has been the sound engineer and done specialFx for Fiddler on the Roof, Rent, Legally Blonde, Evil Dead The Musical, Seussical The Musical, Next to Normal, South Pacific, Mary Poppins, Jr, A Christmas Carol, Big Fish and 9 to 5. He is excited to be part of the team to help bring Annie to the stage.
Julian Taylor
Julian is looking forward to helping behind the scenes after being on stage at TITG in 9 to 5 as Josh earlier this year. Usually on the stage, this is his first mainstage crew position. Other favorite stage roles include Beadle in Sweeney Todd Youth Ed. (STAGES), Don Lockwood in Singing in the Rain (Century Theatre Company), and Hyde 4 in Jekyll and Hyde (Century Theatre Company). When not on stage, Julian sings with the Pacific Youth Choir, playing board games and Dungeons & Dragons with his friends, and playing his tuba.
