Summer Theatre Camps 2010

This year we have some exciting new changes to our summer theatre camps. Theatre In The Grove’s Young Actors’ Summer Theatre (YAST) has been serving students for 24 years. This year it takes on a new name (CAST) and even more activities for the youth of our area. With our new Children’s After School Theatre program, the YAST camps will now be known as CAST Camps. The structure is basically the same. The students meet for three and one half hours each day for two weeks. During that time, the actors will be exploring the art of the stage through theatre games, exercises and improvisation and creating their own original play. The Musical Theatre Camp will focus on voice, dance and individual performance as well as group production numbers, creating their own musical revue. The Technical Theatre Camps will study the art of backstage and work on sets, lights, sound, and other technical aspects of performance. On the last day of class, the theatre will hold a free public performance featuring the work of the students.

Once again, Theatre In the Grove’s summer program will be led by Jeanna Van Dyke. We also welcome back John Anderberg. His Technical Theatre Camps were so successful last year; we are offering them once again. In addition, John will be teaching the teen acting camp.

All Sessions: $115.   Please note Sessions 1,2,3, & 4 are limited to 16 students.  Tech Camps A & B are limited to 12 students.

Registration is on a FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE basis.  Payment must be made at the time of registration via cash, check or credit card*
