HONK! JR. is the story of Ugly, an awkward duck whose gawky looks instantly incite intolerance from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his rollicking and harrowing journey, he not only discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny but also finds love and acceptance in all its forms.

You will want to get your tickets early for the musical, HONK!, Jr.! It only runs for two weekends March 2 – 11, 2018 and is a wonderful show for the whole family to enjoy. Director, Karli Winters, has put together a very talented group of children from the community who are enthusiastic about telling (and singing) the story of Ugly, the duck with a unique “Honk”. With catchy songs you will quickly be humming “Poultry Tale” to yourself!

Theatre in the Grove and the young actors of HONK!, Jr.!, are committed to bring a fantastic show to the community for everyone to see. In fact, HONK!, Jr.! will be performed during the week of March 5th for the local schools; Performing 8 shows in four days. That’s FOURTEEN shows total in 11 days!

HONK! JR., written by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe and directed by Karli Winters is the story of Ugly, an awkward duck who looks different from his brothers and sisters. Honk! JR. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score.  Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will treat your audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears.

The other animals on the farm are quick to notice that Ugly is different and point this out, despite his mother’s protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Winters brings 45 young actors from the community to tell the heartwarming duck-tale celebrating uniqueness to Theatre in the Grove. It is sure to delight audiences and will have you humming “It’s a Poultry Tale” over and over again!
